Assembling your quilt top:
Layout quilt squares according to diagram and make any changes now before you start sewing.
Start on the top row. Place second square on top of first square right sides together, keeping in mind any fabric that may be directional. Stitch together using a quarter inch seam. Continue along the row stitching squares 3 to 4, 5 to 6, and 7 to 8. Now you can stitch the pairs together (1-2) to (3-4), and (5-6) to (7-8). Finally, stitch the final seam to join (1-2-3-4) to (5-6-7-8).
Continue this for each row.
Now that you have all your rows together you will want to press them. Press the seams on all the even rows in one direction and all the seams on the odd rows in the other direction. Layout the rows again and check the order.
Place row one on top of row two, right sides together. Line up the row at each seam, nesting them together
using the opposing seams to help and pin or clip to keep in place. Stitch the rows together removing pins as you get close.
Continue stitching rows 3 to 4, 5 to 6, 7 to 8, and 9 to 10. Now you can join (1-2) to (3-4), (5-6) to (7-8). Stitch (5-6-7-8) to (9-10) and then finish the top by stitching (1-2-3-4) to (5-6-7-8-9-10).
Press all horizontal seams in the same direction. Finish by pressing from the top.
