Pinwheel Surprise Block Pattern

Pinwheel Surprise Block Pattern

The Pinwheel Surprise block pattern is finished, well, almost!  I just need one more photo to add in and it will be ready to go.  I love this pattern.  It seems really complicated when you first see the end result, but it is actually really simple.  I am excited to try some different color combinations and see what fun stuff I can come up with.  I think there may have to be a version with black instead of white!  What colors would you like to see together?

    1. Yes, I believe this would work well for hand piecing. I would love to see one that was all done by hand!

      1. Ok, then I’ll buy the pattern and let you know how it goes. I have a friend that hand-pieces as well. We both think this is more interesting than a traditional cathedral window block.

    1. I would say this is intermediate level. It is important to be able to work with multiple layers and keep edges aligned while stitching. I do use several pins while sewing each block. The step by step instructions with color photos help make it as easy as possible, but it is not simple piecing. I believe any skill level could accomplish this pattern with some patience and practice.

    1. Yes, this pattern will show you how to make the blocks and you can use them to make any size quilt. You will just have to figure out the fabric requirements for the size of quilt you want to make, but the rest will be the same.
