I hope everyone is having a fun and festive holiday season! I am sure you all have been as crazy busy as I have. No matter how well I think I have planned the last minute prep and shopping and wrapping is always stressful. I am ready for the celebration and also ready for the downtime coming after Christmas! Day at the Beach – My Happy Place Row Along

Day at the Beach It’s finally my feature day for the My Happy Place Row Along.  I have been (not so) patiently waiting excitedly to show you what I have created for you.  I had a lot of ideas for what I wanted to do with this pattern.  There are so many places that make me happy.  When I first began I thought I would try to represent my garden, so when I chose my fabrics from Northcott Fabrics I chose ones that I thought would be good flower colors.  I love the Stonehenge Gradations Brights collection and both of my choices are from it.  I just love how rich and sparkly these are. These are 39302-45 and 39300-85.         When I received my fabric choices from Northcott Fabric who so generously provided each designer with fabric for this event, I felt that they fit better into another happy place of mine.  The blue reminded me of the ocean – so clear and reflective.  I had to change my pattern to the beach.  I have visited both coasts and the gulf and can spend hours just laying on the beach listening to the ocean. I hunted through my fabric stash to find the perfect fabrics to complete my beach scene.  I had some cloud fabric from long ago and a sparkly sand color that I know is also from Northcott that fit in perfectly with the blue I was going to use for the ocean.  I used bits and pieces of bright, fun colors to fill in the chairs, umbrella, and sun.  I also found a jungle print that I could fussy cut the palm leaves out of.  These would look great out of any green fabrics that you have on hand as well.
