Halloween Applique Quilt Blocks
It’s starting to get cooler. The leaves are changing. Fields are being harvested. It’s football season. Fall is officially here! It is time to start decorating for Fall and Halloween! It may be my favorite time of year. I am having so much fun designing these Halloween applique quilt blocks!
I started with the Haunted Tree design. I originally had added a spooky face, but it sort of got lost in the design so I took it out. You could totally make it your own and add any sort of face you wanted to and make it extra haunted!
Next up was the spooky Halloween cat. He’s out prowling the night with the full moon to light his way and the bats keeping watch over his every move. Nothing says Halloween quite like a black cat in the night,
Every Halloween needs a witch! I started with her witches hat. I chose a purple background and orange hat band with gold buckle. I think this is one block that would make a fantastic quilt all by itself. Each block changing the hat band and background color.
Next up! Witches shoes! The iconic curly toed black witches shoes are an absolute must for every Halloween witch! Of course, the witches socks are a bright fun green here, but have fun and change them up to whatever fun fabric you have. Stripes, dots, pumpkins, Halloween fabric: it all works!
What Halloween would be complete without a spooky ghost? This is an easy, simple pattern that can easily be changed from happy to scared, to angry, just by changing the shape of the mouth! Have fun with this easy design!
Fall is pumpkin harvesting time! What a perfect pumpkin, ready to carve into your Halloween jack-o-lantern or make into delicious pumpkin pie! A sure sign that Fall is upon us.
Candy corn! Love it or hate it, you can’t deny this Halloween candy icon. It’s the perfect color for every Fall candy snack mix. Orange, yellow and white just screams Autumn. Use this block to sweeten your Halloween decor!
This is the first installment of my applique blocks. At least a few more Halloween blocks are on the way to you and then look for lots of fun Christmas blocks to be coming soon so that you can start working on your holiday to-so list!
Let me know in the comments which is your favorite Halloween tradition and which blocks you would like to see next!
Lovely Halloween blocks – my favourite is the cat and the bats.
That’s one of my favorites too!
